CLANZ, the Clinical Leaders Association of New Zealand was created as an informal network in 1998 and was registered as an Incorporated Society with charitable status in 1999. Government funding ceased in 2004 and the society office closed. The organisation has not been in operation until recent activity to support a Centre for Compassion in Healthcare. A substantial number of new members have registered their details on the web site database.
At a Special General Meeting on 17th November 2007, previous CLANZ members voted in support of a resolution to make application to restore the society to the Register of Incorporated Societies. This resolution was carried unanimously, by 33 votes to nil. Audited financial records were made available for the last five years and these have been lodged with the Companies Office.
A further general meeting will be called to vote on a resolution to dissolve CLANZ (according to the terms of the Constitution) and to transfer remaining assets to a new charitable trust in support of the Centre for Compassion in Healthcare.
This web site will be rebranded but all new members, who have registered their interest in the work on Compassion in Healthcare, will remain on the database for the new Centre.
In the meantime, those who are interested in clinical leadership development will find a wide range of resources and publications on this site. Please click on the tabs at the top of each page to find your way around this material.
