Learning Resources

This section is under development.

In the near future, we will begin to develop funding and resources that you can use to promote compassion in your own workplace. The resources will include:

  • A kitset to guide you in facilitating "Compassion Rounds" in your hospital or workplace
  • A DVD with a moving short film about "Compassionate Caring" - a great resource for stimulating a workplace discussion about the issues of humanity and compassion
  • A DVD of patient stories together with a Facilitators' Manual for use in workshops with health professionals - this resource was originally created in a partnership between the Clinical Leaders Assoc of NZ (CLANZ) and Nga Ngaru Hauora - the National Collective of Maori Health providers.
  • Small funding grants to help you get started in your work

Compassion Rounds will shortly be piloted at Waitakere Hospital in Auckland and the experience and learnings will be shared with you.

The DVD's are already completed but we need to get some infrastructure in place to support packaging and distribution.

In the meantime, we encourage you to explore the wide range of material already available on this website, to become a 'Friend" of the Centre for Compassion in Healthcare and to contribute your own stories or experiences to the international dialogue supported by the website.
