It is very heartening and exciting to learn that there are significant practical endeavours made to encompass compassion in healthcare. Scotland launched The Leadership in Compassionate Care project which is a collaborative venture between Napier University and NHS Lothian, and is supported by a generous benefactor. According to the university’s website “The aim of the 3 year project is to ensure that compassionate nursing practice is integral to care within NHS Lothian and within the undergraduate nursing programme at Napier University.  An important part of this project is to disseminate both the learning and outcomes to other organisations.”   (27-Jun-08)
